Delicate white tea buds hand-tied into beautiful star-shaped bundles

A tea designed with sophistication in mind, Aquarius is made from delicate white tea buds that have been carefully plucked and hand-tied into star-shaped bundles. Serve in a wine glass or champagne flute for a truly luxurious experience.

Tea: Unique, hand-tied white tea stars

Contents: White tea

Origin: Uva, Sri Lanka

Tasting Notes: Honey, valley flowers, papaya, light hay

In Greek mythology, Aquarius is known as the beautiful young cup bearer to Zeus, whose role was to keep the glasses of the gods topped up during festive celebrations. For his servitude, he was immortalized in the stars, including our white tea stars that share his name.

Hand-tied using skilled precision, Aquarius tea stars are crafted from delicate white tea buds – a type of tea rarely produced in Sri Lanka. Incredibly unique, this tea is particularly exquisite when served in a champagne flute and makes a wonderful conversation piece at any social gathering.

Gachi Grower Sri Lanka Aquarius White Tea Stars

Aquarius is grown, picked and hand-crafted on a bio-organic tea garden in the highlands of Sri Lanka’s Uva Province. Nestled among waterfalls and lush jungles, the small, community-focused farm is dedicated to producing quality teas through ethical, sustainable practices.

Workers here are not just a part of a factory-line process – which is often the case with most Sri Lankan tea estates – but are empowered in their craft. In addition to learning the stages of the tea-making process, workers are instructed how to keep records about the upkeep and crafting of the teas. They earn a percentage of the estate's revenues in addition to their wages, while another portion of the farm's revenues is reserved for community-building initiatives.

Our partner growers also emphasize environmental sustainability by using strict, all-natural growing methods. No chemicals, artificial fertilizers or pesticides are used on the farm. Rather, our partner growers utilize their own compost, organic sprays and manure from their rescue cows.

Because of our partner grower’s unique approach, their workers enjoy long-term, rewarding employment, and their Ceylon teas are of unprecedented quality and innovation.
