Pheonix Dan Cong oolong with sophisticated flavor profile

Characterized by an extraordinary fruity aroma and airy floral notes, Shangri La is a rare Dan Cong oolong grown under meticulous conditions on China’s Phoenix Mountain. With a lingering peachy sweetness, it takes one closer to paradise with every sip.

Contents: Loose leaf Mi Lan Xiang (oolong tea)

Origin: Guangdong Province, China

Harvest: Spring 2018

Tasting Notes: Peach, citrus, floral

Some time ago, in the picturesque mountains of Guangdong Province, China, a number of wild trees were picked by local farmers who then processed their leaves into fine teas. As time went on, the farmers started to notice that certain crops had begun to take on their own unique flavor profiles.

The farmers then took grafts from the best trees, cultivating them until eventually very specific flavor profiles ranging from honey and almond to gardenia became more pronounced. As a result, the Pheonix Dan Cong oolong was born.

Named after the mythical utopia, our Shangri La is one of the finest examples of this rare oolong, and is a treasure chest of captivating peach and floral flavors, a thick mouthfeel, and a lingering finish.

There are no artificial flavors, additives or essential oils added to create Shangri La’s remarkable flavor profile. Rather, its complexity is attributed to the meticulous craftsmanship of skillful tea masters who use techniques carried down through the generations to bring out the best in Mother Nature.
